Penny from Heaven

The car wouldn’t start!! Ever had that happen? Who hasn’t. I was headed out to do some errands in the morning and the car wasn’t really dead, but it was electrically mis-firing, it seemed. The windshield wipers started in slowly, and the dash was blinking and making noises. I didn’t know what was up, so I called my husband, of course. And then I called AAA. The lady who came out was ever so nice. Thankfully, she tried to start the car before she hooked it up to a portable battery. It wouldn’t start for her either. But when she hooked it up to the battery she brought, it started right up. No computer problems. No electrical problems. Just a battery problem. She recommended that I have the battery expert come out and run some diagnostics, and then I could buy a new battery from that person, if needed. This would take about 45 minutes before they arrived. By this time, I needed to be leaving in 15 minutes for a Celebration of Life Service. Guess I was going to have to miss it. The technician tried a few more things, stopped and restarted the car, and it seemed fine, so I decided to just go to the service. As I got into the car to leave, there sitting on the seat was a shiny new penny. As I write this just now, I wonder if the technician had left it there on purpose, or had it fallen out of her pocket? My first thought when I looked down at it was surprise because it was so shiny, and then I thought of what it says on the penny – “In God We Trust.” To me, it seemed God wanted me at the service to celebrate the life of a wonderful, godly woman. I was so thankful to have been able to do that.

This is just a short little story today, one that is representative of Searching And Noticing the Divine. I have been sending these stories out for a couple of years now, and have been thoroughly enjoying sharing them with you. I hope you have enjoyed them, too. I don’t know how many more I will send, or what God has planned there, because I have embarked on a new adventure in writing. With writing, and other things God has me involved in, I’m not going to try and push it to write too much. I wanted those of you who have been following The SAND Room to not be wondering where I have gone. I’m still here, typing away on the computer, and Searching And Noticing the Divine each day. Many of you have been so kind through the years, encouraging me when you have enjoyed a story shared. I appreciate the silent readers, and the responder readers.

I do have a few books available on Amazon, including a new one called, “Impossible is Nothing.” If you miss hearing from me, you can take a look at those and see if they interest you. This latest book was actually the first one written. I wrote it 12 years ago, and with the help of self-publishing, and a husband who knows how to do it, we can finally share it.

I hope that 2017 will be a wonderful year for you. I may pop back up from time to time and say hello through The SAND Room. Let’s keep on looking for our Savior, for His loving touch, for the power of the Holy Spirit that helps us each day, and for the love of the Father that is poured into our lives from Heaven above. One day, our King will return, and life as we know it will never be the same life again! Come, Lord Jesus.

We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
