Insurance

Right now my husband and I are living without health and dental insurance. Being unemployed means purchasing it on our own. Will we be okay without insurance? For sixty days, as long as we stay healthy, it’s not a problem. We are aware that we are not covered right now, of course. But my question is, how many of us are living on this earth without insurance, and we don’t even know it? Health insurance and dental insurance are good for this life. But what about our next life…the one we are all headed for when we leave this earth? Are we covered for that?

My friend, who has been so sick in the hospital, has health insurance. She is taken care of as she fights the battle of cystic fibrosis that she knows so well. It’s amazing to see her instruct the nurses as to which medications she will need, and not need. She knows all about breathing treatments and lung infections. I have known her since 1989, and this is the sickest I have seen her. I have climbed Half Dome with her, and skied the Alps with her. Recently, she has been barely able to breathe. She needs the health insurance coverage she has. I’m sure the bills are more than we can even imagine. As I have spent time with her, we have discussed many things. The good times we have shared, and what her future may be now. She is a realist, and I appreciate that about her. She looks life square in the face, and goes for it. She also looks death square in the face, and talks about it. She has been surrounded by family and friends, and has been loving the times God has given her to be with them. She knows so many are praying for her, and she appreciates each prayer. She told me that the antibiotics were no longer able to control the growing infections. She has been burning thousands of calories each day just laboring to breathe. When I asked her, “Baring a miracle from God, is this it?” She said, “Yes.”

We have been watching a miracle from God take place. She is now able to get out of bed and walk down the hall, with help. She is eating again, and the infection seems to be subsiding a bit. We don’t know what God’s ultimate plan is for my friend, but right now, we are thankful for the work He is doing. Not only is her body growing stronger, but so is her faith. She has said that the Lord is her Savior, and she’s at peace knowing she’s covered.

These times cause us to Search And Notice the Divine like never before. It’s where the rubber meets the road. In times like this, we can’t just talk about a physical condition—we need to talk about the condition of our soul. Is the Lord our Savior? Is He our Redeemer? Have our sins been washed away by Jesus’ amazing grace? If we can answer “Yes” to those questions, Eternal Life Insurance has been granted. Pre-existing conditions don’t matter—they are covered. Jesus has purchased the best insurance policy possible for us through the shedding of His blood on the Cross. It’s available to all who will receive Him. We don’t even need to be employed!

Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
