Have you ever been in the right place, at the right time, with the right person? It’s a wonderful thing when God works it out that way, as He did today! I was having coffee with a friend, sitting outside where the weather was a bit cool. We stayed there as long as we could, until finally we decided to go sit in the car. It was full inside the coffee shop, probably for the same reason. After a while in the car, we both needed to make a trip back inside to use the restroom. Coffee will do that to you! I don’t know how long we would have been in the shop, or if we would have returned to the car, but God knew where we needed to be and when. Another friend of ours walked in, spotted us, and guess what? There was seating inside for the three of us. It was perfect.
In life, we all have times where we just need to be with someone who understands. Life can really throw us some curve balls, and our friend was having one of those kinds of days. Some things were on the horizon with the failing health of her niece, something my friend and I are very familiar with—we both have children in Heaven. As we sat and talked, we were able to offer comfort, and even some wisdom, both things that were much needed. Our friend left, having been cared for, prayed for, and encouraged to face what was ahead, even though it is going to be very difficult should the prayers end with a heavenly healing instead of an earthly one.
As we watched this Divine meeting unfold, we were astounded by God’s perfect plan and timing. We could have easily been in the car across the parking lot and missed her. But God knew she was coming into the shop, and He timed it just right for us to meet. It is so wonderful to know there are different parts to the body of Christ’s church, and that God knows just when to bring those different parts together to work for the good of those He so loves. No one can do it all, but everyone can do their part.
When Searching And Noticing the Divine, I have seen other times like this through the years. I remember many years ago working in church as the receptionist. There were people who came through the doors searching for God. They met Him through those that were there to talk with them about the Hope and help we have in Jesus. Those people got connected where they needed, and I witnessed lives being changed by Divine appointments. Why that place? On that day? With that person? Because God knows our needs, and He brings us where we need to be to be taken care of...just as He did with our friend today. We serve an amazing God who is involved in the intimate details of our lives. It’s fun when we see our Lord orchestrating things so perfectly.
Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
